Life.
The journey of ups and downs. The hills and valleys. Or, more
honestly, the cliffs and palaces. For some a joy ride, and for others
complete misery. Having hopefully learned much this year on this
subject, and being encouraged by one of my good friends to resume
writing, I decided to share a few of my thoughts. The storms will
come, but the sun never leaves. So many times we look at the bad in
life, and choose to ignore the good. Many hard times will come, but
there is always hope. No matter what you do, never despair. Never
forget who you serve. Paul, even though he was beaten and imprisoned
time after time wrote to Timothy: “Paul,
an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Savior and of Christ
Jesus our hope,”. We shouldn't despair as unbelievers do. We have
been called, and saved by the Creator of everything. I'm not asking
you to deny hard times. I'm asking you to look past them, to the hope
that awaits you. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a
cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which
clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set
before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising
the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
No matter how hard it gets, keep running. Never give up. Never give
in. Never back down. I guess I'll close here, with another verse.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
